Re: For Simon Scott or ?
At last I have had a chance to start looking at Bob's confusing conundrum... couldn't you set something easier Bob?!?!
Must admit I am as befuddled as everyone else...
Armed with the clue that the number 10 is important, I have been trying to fit the number 10 in with any of the clues and fear I may be going down a blind alley.
So I thought I would share my first thoughts in case it helps others or prompts Uncle Bob to give us more clues! [-o<
Bob Swiekert started the 1956 Indy 500 in 10th place and was the 10th winner of the Indy 500 in the Hulman/George AAA Sanctioning era...
Alfa Romeo won 10 Grand Prix (thanks to Fangio, Farina and Faglioli (shared).
Brabham Repco won 10 F1 races (8 Grand Prix and 2 non championship).
Jenson Button was the 10th British World Champion - but that would make Lewis the 9th, not number 11 as Bob taunted us with...
Am I in any way on the right lines? Pray tell... [-o<
Must go and lie down now. Brain hurts!

Re: For Simon Scott or ?
Did I blunder on Hammy? Yes, but Jenson was the tenth Britain to win the World Drivers Championship. Some won it several times, but he was the tenth PERSON.
Alfa won 10 GP's more than any other marque at the time, ie first car to win 10 GP's.
Bob Swiekert was also a 'tenth' by winning at Indi, which was of course a WC round in those days, and that is the significant factor for him. I wonder was he the tenth different driver to win a round? Hmmm.
Simon and Leigh it is all a matter of counting up to 10 in each instance, you only have to work out what they were tenth at.
Is this of any help at all?
The whole thing was designed to fill in the long winter evenings.

Looks like we will have to resort to the old Christmas pantomime again Bob….The whole thing was designed to fill in the long winter evenings.

Simon, you've gotten a little further than me! Intrestingly, Jenson won his championship in his 10th year in F1 as well as being the tenth Brit...

In addition, the Indy 500 was included as part of the FIA World Championship for 10 years....1950-60.

Bob Swiekert also won the 1955 Indy 500 in the John Zink Special but not sure how the number 10 fits. It was a beautiful pink colour and is currently on show in a museum in Oklahoma City.

Thanks for putting me out of my misery...I just really hope you don't have a similar quiz for every year after 1950! [-o<

Would that be for the mentally or physically challenged Jack?
Hmm. Leigh seems adept at winning handicaps

Your starter for 10; What was particularly unique about the 1955 World Championship result?
Follow-up: In which year did five drivers of the same nationality figure in the top six in the F1 WC.?
