He lives in Wogga Wogga, or some such part of the outback, and his bicycle has a puncture.

No doubt Burradoo is the Australian equivalent of Inworth. Both a long way from the Leathern Bottle.

Anyway Greg, you don't have time for all this nonsense you should be nailing that old Morgan back together. 8-[

OK children, gather 'round. Burradoo [Aboriginal word for 'Place of many brigalow trees'] is about 200 miles N/E of Wagga Wagga [Aboriginal for 'Place of many crows']. Must never be called 'Wagga'.

After finding my box of monel nails, I have nailed the rear 1/4 panels on.....don't rush me, Bob !

machiel kalf wrote:Dear +4 fanatics,

At the moment I am still reading "The Book". For me the most important "news" was to see on page 102! The one and only +4 Super Sports are +4's, low line body (just one with a Serie III, Serie IV and Serie V), two seaters, and ofcourse Lawrence Tune engine, exhaust, LT- inlet, and 42mm Webers. I have to count the numbers of this type in my factory lis!!. But, I have the feeling that the total will be around 50 or 60. The rest are +4's with a Lawrence Tune engine. So, it's not a +4 DHC Super Sports............... or a +4 4 seater Super Sports. Interesting "news" isn't it?
Hi Machiel,
an interesting observation. Just because it says this in this particular book does it make it fact? What if a car's owner was not that stated in the book, would that mean that the correct/real owner in period was not in fact the owner after all? What if an original log book for a car states the model as "Super Sports', from when the factory first registered the car would that make it more definitive? And would it be the case that if the car had a high-line body then the factory must have got confused with the model designations when it was being manufactured and registered? Was it perhaps a mistake made on just one car, or a serial mistake being made on a number of cars registered up to March '62 at least?

Something to discuss further in Jan perhaps?

Regards,
Simon

With all this digression I have forgotten which Saturday in January 2015 we are all going to the Leathern bottle?!

Is it Saturday 17th January...

If so we would have:

Simon King
Leigh Sebba
Mark Hoble
Richard Plant
Philip Tisdall
Bob Bull
Machiel Kalf?
Mary Lindsay?
Andy Green?
Me!

but not:
Simon Gurney (in USA)
Greg Mackie (in Oz)

Cheers

Mark
