Negative Camber Plates

Post by Simon Moore »

I intend fitting plates to my 1979 4/4. I run wire wheels and 165/80 x 15 tyres. Does anyone have any thoughts or advice about the best angle to go for? The car is used mostly for touring but also sprints/hillclimb/track days. Thanks, Simon

First, measure what you have got now! Important!

Certainly no more than 2 degrees neg, look at the rules in the MSA blue book too, as I think the max you can have is one and a half degrees, and check the MSCC regs. There again, your car is in the modified class, so I might be talking c**p! Check, anyhow.
you might need to change tyre pressures too, as the steering will be different, and the other benefit is that the wheels won't rub on the chassis.

Simon,

Try speaking to Rick Bourne at Brands Hatch Morgans for some good advice.
