Hi Bob,

Great photos. Was wondering, who is racing with car number "18".

Look forward to your response,

Machiel Kalf.

Machiel, I thought you were the Morgan expert, I'm just a photographer, however, I do know that number 18 is driven by John Clarke, deported to Australia some years ago. Silverstone probably 2006, but I will check.

Kind regards,

Bob

2006 was the 1st running of the TT won by Jack (in XOV) closely hounded by Billy in their 4/4 (0.12 behind) . There were 11 +4s racing and 2 4/4s. At the start, Jack took the lead followed closely by Keith (TOK), Matt Taylerson (VON) and yours truly (HPY). At the end, Matt had given Keith the slip to finish behind the Bellingers. Then Keith, me, Mark Gilbert-Smith, David James, Barry, Leigh, Will Sargeant, Kelvin, Mark and David Threadingham.
Happy days

I would have been in either the Tim Hill +4 or the Sumner 4/4

Leigh, you are shown in the program as driving a Morgan Plus 4 1955 2138cc if that helps identify your mount.

Other Moggies listed include;
William Sargent 1964 Plus4
Jonathon Rushton 1967 +4
Barry Sumner 1972 4/4
Helen Thorne 1964 4/4
Mark Shears 1961 +4
Kelvin Laidlaw 1953 +4

The Power Troque race had 35 entries. 16 might still appear in a race today.

Happy memories indeed...

It was my first ever race.

Whatever happened to motor cycle racer David Threadingham's Plus 4?

I know TR 4 racer John Andon bought it and had it repainted from the bright green and black duo colour scheme to dark green and then sold it through Richard Thorne.

But where is it now...?!

Cheers

Mark
