Re: Web site updates 2019
The safety car at Silverstone almost stopped on the Wellington straight to let an ambulance on to the circuit from the collecting area.

it could be that Messrs Butterworth are fiendishly clever. They raced under false pretences. A quite blatant deception that went unnoticed Towit, No 47 belongs to the pretty red car in class J . Either that or they half=hinched it and surreptitiously resprayed it in Bumble's old colours.
This sis a case for Hercule and Inspector Japp.
ps
sad to read of the carnage in Bobs report. Is there any good reason why the safety car stopped or slowed dramatically?
Peter,
I am reliably informed that your race number 47 was used inadvertently by MB instead of the number he had been allocated - this won't happen again. Mind you I did wonder if this was part of a cunning plan to give the appearance your pretty red car was going faster.

Re: Web site updates 2019
Following Castle Combe the Championship has come down to just three potential winner if my maths are correct;
Tony Hirst is on 115 points, with dropped scores he has 103 points
Andrew Thompson is on 114 points, but on dropped scores he has 100 points.
Craig Hamilton-Smith is on 112 points with dropped scores he is on 96 points.
With a maximum 11 points still available, depending on numbers in class, any of the three could claim the title.
On current form Tony Hirst is favourite, but there are many scenarios that could throw a spanner in the works.
Jack Bellinger cannot now win, neither can Phillip Tisdall.
All of this is quite unofficial so don't take my word for it.

Re: Web site updates 2019
If I read the situation aright it means that Craig cannot now win the Championship, as even a win and fastest lap will only add three points to his total ending up on 107.
Tony has a total of 109, and must finish at least second in class to add to his total. That would leave him on 111.
Andrew would need the minimum three cars in his class to be able to add another three points to leave him on 110.
This taking in to account dropped scores.
For Andrew to win the Challenge he would have to have three cars in the class and win with fastest lap, and for Tony to finish 3rd or lower and so add nothing to his 109.
Better pray for rain Andrew.

Re: Web site updates 2019
I bow to your excellent reportage and knowledge but I'm not in the chase this year.
or.....is there more than one Tony?

Is Jan a twin? I remember one had to guess which twin had the Toni!TonyLees wrote:I bow to your excellent reportage and knowledge but I'm not in the chase this year.

Was she the lucky one or ………….?
To avoid the confusion of doubt I should point out that any reference to 'Tony' in my summary of the position of Mr Tony Hirst vis a vis the Aero Challenge is the said Mr Tony Hirst, and (as far as I know) no relation to a certain Tony Lees who is not in the running for the ultimate prize in Morgan racing. A mention in my report.
Apologies for any distress caused.
Bob.
