Saw reference to this in Miscellany and looked up the results. Looks pretty gruelling with racing well into the night and (presumably for Anglesey) in the rain. Two Mog teams (one with only one car ?) and the times and results seemed to vary – perhaps due to SC.
Hopefully someone who was there can do a report or point me to finding one

Astounding.
Impressive performance by drivers and cars in challenging conditions.

There were two Morgan teams, one in the relay with four cars and 5 drivers. A second did the whole race with one car and two drivers.

The format was 6 hours on Saturday, starting at 3pm. Six hours on Sunday, starting at 9am. The Sunday was punctuated with a service of Remembrance at 11am.
All cars stopped and a crowd of many hundreds gathered in the pits for bugles and prayers.

Racing amongst us were the Franchetti brothers, Rob Austin and Dan Welch. More amazing were the injured service men/women driving adapted cars.

The start was appalling, constant rain and standing water and a vicious wind. Luckily it started to dry out as it got darker. I'd estimate 12 -15 safety car periods.
Non of the Morgans suffered impact, although some left the track only to be recovered by pushing marshals. The Sunday was drier but bitterly cold.

The single car team suffered lack of front brakes towards the end, which dropped it several places.

The Morgan relay team finished a creditable 18th. The single car team a few places behind, having fitted 2nd hand brake pads.

If anyone fancies entering a third team for next year, please contact Mark Evans at the factory.

Sounds as gruelling as the Spa six hours with rain and darkness, and good to hear about the injured in adapted cars and combining motor racing with a good cause.
Next year could the Morgans be fitted with more ‘period looking’ extra lights ??

As Mark Evans bought a job lot of Chinese led light bars, I doubt the lighting strategy will change. To be fair they were very effective, those with younger eyes were less than 10 seconds of their daytime pace.

This was our second time at the event and the conditions were better than the previous visit. The additional lighting made such a difference and the rain was coming from above not off the Irish sea.

Last year we were on the pit wall and one of the Mission Motorsport cars came into the pit. We watched one of the pit crew struggle to bend down and get a wheel off. He then ripped of his artificial legs and ran around on what was left of his legs changing the wheels.

A truly humbling experience.

As John pointed out, this was our second venture and we were better prepared than last year, still room for improvement.

The Morgan's certainly recreate much interest, and it's great to support our hero's.
