This might be of interest, transcribed from Autosport 16 September 2021: “He [Gordon Spice] bought an MG TF, but the car proved to be disastrously unreliable on his early outings with it in 1962. He replaced it with a Morgan and soon made rapid progress, so much so that in 1964 he made his first appearance at Le Mans, sharing a Deep Sanderson with Chris Lawrence.” They apparently only managed 13 laps…
Amazing how many famous names have raced Morgans...

I'm sorry to hear of Gordon's passing.

Whereas Leigh is not quite right "I think he created the SLR Morgan with Chris Lawrence" - there is some truth in his statement.

Gordon was the Company Secretary of Chris's company Lawrence Tune Engines. He took over from Len Bridge in 1964 when the SLR first made an appearance. Gordon invested his own money into Lawrence Tune and was immediately promoted to the top of the list for the first Morgan SLR (displacing Pip Arnold). In March 1964, at his first race at Goodwood in the SLR, Gordon overcooked it at Woodcote and stuffed the SLR into the earth bank. It didn't make a reappearance for the rest of that year.

By the end of 1964, Chris Lawrence had requisitioned his own tools and equipment forcing Lawrence Tune to close. Gordon's last task was to give all the employees their notice.

Note: Gordon's SLR was registered 581 DOK and was painted blue.

All the above taken from "The Lawrence Tune Years 1961-1964" by Alderson and Chapman.
