Fire extinguisher

Post by David Frow »

Hi
I am about to fit a mechanical fire extinguisher to my +4, does anyone have any suggestions as to the best place to bolt in the bottle and where to locate the engine bay nozzle.
Thanks
David

We mounted ours vertically in the passenger footwell of our early Plus 8. I am told that this also works in a Plus 4.

As we are running the larger size we have 2 nozzles in the engine bay, one on the bulkhead and one at the front.

Hi
It is suggested that you point the nozzel at the most likely point of a fire - which in most cases is the carbs - and mounting it on the bulkhead keeps the pipe lengths short
Hope this helps
