Wanted (cheap) 4/4 2 seater
Wanted 4/4 2 seater, for around £10k (if there is such a thing)
As much as I love thrashing my dads car around, I can't stop worrying about the price of a new radatior if I was to have a misshap in it, so I guess it's time I got my own car.
Idealy a 4/4 to class 3 spec for the Speedmog championship, but anything that has been already been raced or used in speed events would do.
Would prefer a Ford Crossflow engine car, with steel/alloy wheels as apposed to wires, I'm not bothered about the colour, I'm quite happy to take on a "project" that is almost finished, but haven't got the time to be doing a chassis up rebuild.
but I realise at around £10k I can't afford to be too fussy so I'll consider anything that comes along.

Hi Jim,
See this link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Other-Ma ... enameZWDVW" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Copy in browser if the link doesnt work. It is a 1967 car on Ebay in the US. But it is RHD so that should be good for you (and not so good for US buyers). And the engine has been replaced by a crossflow engine.
So, all good news?
Maybe it is worth importing it, given the exchange rate and the fact that it seems not to be too expensive.
Hope this helps.
All the best, Jochem

Thanks for the link, i'll keep and eye on it but I think it's going to be out of my price range given all the import costs.

Don't you mean "whats right with 4 seaters ?" , only joking John, I just prefer the look of 2 seaters, but if the right 4 seater came along i'd consider it.john bevan wrote:what's wrong with 4 seaters???
You got your steering colum/inlet manifold issue sorted out yet ?.
See you Sunday

I know what you mean- 2 seaters look more sporty, but old series 4 seaters are great, in that you have lots of room to put helmet, racesuit, tent, tools etc without bothering with a luggage rack. They're also not a lot heavier, and you can take out all the excess bits anyway.
there is a project 4 seater at Richard Thorne and on the Morgan Car used car website.
John
PSNot at Debden, but see you at Bentwaters.

Jim,
Take into account 2500 USD (1200 pounds) for transport.
I dont know about import tax in the UK, but in Holland it is 6% (maximum of few hundred Pounds).
I think you will be able to get this one in your garage for 10.000 to 12.000 Pounds.
Anyway, if I see something else come along, i will let you know.
Best regards, Jochem

Think I might need to sort the brakes first
