Full race programme for all championships - the "Championship Finals".

Not sure if any of the Mogs are up there contending any of the class championships - but another chance to exercise the Mogs.

Who has entered so far???

Hi John,

I have entered and had my entry confirmed. Hopefully it should be a good Morgan turn out and the Finals Race Meeting is usually well subscribed with it being the last race of the season. (Other than the Walter Hayes Trophy Meeting in November!)

See you there,

Cheers

Mark

After missing all the fun of Donington and attending a christening instead you don't think I would miss the finals meeting... I had my entry confirmed the other week but am yet to get anything that looks like final instructions through the post.

JC, your missive in this months Mog Mag was a great read. It was just really nice to see the historic fraternity getting good exposure this late on in the season when clearly the Morgan Challenge series is reaching its conclusion and taking up much of the colum inches in the club magazine.

If I am allowed I plan on doing a little work on the car this weekend as it hasn't turned a wheel since Brands and it's a cert that some Gremlin or other is going to rear its head somewhere. So, fingers crossed I find it before 18th October comes around.

Finally, in an idle moment (I've had a few) I became part of the YouTube generation. Some in-car footage from Oulton Park can be found at http://www.youtube.com/user/jonathon1969

See y'all in 10 days.

JR

Hi All,

Great video at Oulton Jonathon my god you have to work hard in a Plus 4  Yup you missed a very interesting Donington from gales to monsoons and back to sun and all in the same weekend then a little night racing thrown in at the end, thanks to John for the night practice at Le Mans in July it came in very useful =D> .

I am going to Silverstone finals on the 18th so see you all there and let’s hope the weather will be more favourable .

Anyone else doing the Walter Hayes Trophy?

Richard.

Jonathon – great video ending (for impatient folk who don’t want two laps of Oulton skip the first 3 mins 50 secs). Is that where Andy Green demolished his car earlier this year ?

Looks like a great turn out of historic Mogs with 4 and 8 cylinders this Saturday. But no John Clarke?!

Let's hope the weather is as good this coming weekend as the one we have just enjoyed.

See you all there!

Cheers

This'll not come as a surprise, but once again I have been let down and have had to pull out of tomorrows race. Mark H - your comments about TR engine building at Silverstone in May have proven to be very pertitnent. Anyway hope you all have a great last HSCC race for the year.

regards,
Simon

Good effort by the racing Morgans at Silverstone.

Richard P took the +8 to battle with the Porsche 928s. After a race long, thrilling dice, Richard had to give 2nd best to a well driven Porker. So that was 70's roadsports.

Historic Roadsports, for 60's car, saw a bumper turn out of Mogs and would be Mog racers. The 8 brigade were represented by James P, Tony H and Oliver Phillips. The mighty +4s by Jonathan R, Mark H and Mark S. In support but without Mogs were Simon King (still waiting for engine), Phillip T (rebuild ongoing) and yours truely (recovering from medical maladies).

Qualifying was mixed, James took pole (hooray), Jonathan's engine went bang (argghhh), Mark S was clobbered by a spinning Midget (harumphh) and Mark H took a very wide line out of Brooklands, went straight through the gravel and down the pitlane (ooo err)!! Tony and Oliver kept it on the tarmac to qualify 5th and 13th respectively.

Waiting for the race, Phillip T did a masterly job sticking back together Mark S's plastic wings.

And so to the race, James was done by a TVR Griffith but managed to get back in front by lap 3. He then secumbed to the TVRs enormous grunt and trailed home by a mere 2 secs. I forgot to mention Suzanne was also out in her MGB. Well into the race she spun at Brooklands and the car was spread eagled across the track as the leaders rapidly approached. Now that would have been an interesting dilemma for James!!! As it happened, Suzanne was up and running and round Luffield 1 before the leading pair arrived.

Tony had a steady race finishing 5th with Oliver making up places to finish 8th. As for the +4s??? Well Jonathan was understandably a no show, Mark S gave it 5 laps before retiring (the Midget has also damaged the rear suspension) while Mark H finished a creditable 17th and 3rd in class.

So good effort, but no gongs for the Mogs
