See! There was no need to trample all over my HSCC report in your Holly Birkett Boots, the popularity of this thread proves you just need a bit of gumption to get things rolling and you will soon find plenty of people willing to add there twopenn'ath. On any subject.

In future take courage, grasp the initiative, think outside the box and START YOUR OWN THREAD. They can't touch you for it.

Hey, Jerry, how about a quick rubber of tennis behind the garage. What do you think a, couple of rounds? First one to 100? Nearest the middle to start? I'll bring the puck if you bring the goal.

See you all there.

Wimbledon Bob.

OK! I got it wrong, but as I have said before, it does not matter how you spell it on the radio!!

I did request an audience with you on Saturday Bob but I am afraid to say your minions created an impenetrable barrier.

Good to see Chris there and sorry I couldn't stop and say hello. Blooming safety car , whats wrong with a bit of oil ,just makes it more fun.

You were looking far too relaxed Jerry

Hi! Jerry,
The safety car period was so long that you could have stopped to say hello to the dubious looking media types at Abbey, and still won the motor race.
Chris and I did manage to catch Andrew Potter's eye and get a wave back, a couple of laps later while walking towards Bridge we heard a 'toot, toot' and there was Andrewp waving again. I must say that in 61 years of watching races that was the first time anyone had hooted there horn at me, and I shall treasure the memory.
Sorry I missed you, but I trust that you will understand that having to keep an eye on my young (relatively) assistant and teach him the ropes! Well it took all of my attention.
The 'Beamer Oil Slick' seemed to stretch for ever, starting up the rise towards Bridge Bend and disappearing into the distance, and the remedial action must have boosted Blue Circle shares quite a few notches. (http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/rbmapics.
Well done to the Morgan teams for supplying such great scoff and not doing too badly in the race, the Gentlemen just beating the Funsters, while the Hun team languished a little further back. I hope I managed to catch everyone with my camera and apologies if I missed anyone, be assured it was not deliberate.

Nice to meet a few more members and re-meet some others, and Charles I was most taken with your mug. Oh! Not the one on the web, your drinking vessel!

Sadly my attempts to record the adventures of John E and Phillip G failed miserably it transpires, with a blank disc all I have to show for their sterling efforts.
Should you contemplate purchasing a mini-disc recorder, take my tip and get a Sony not a Sharp.

Thanks to Kate and Simon for the bacon rolls and Andrew for the photo opportunity.

Anyone at the Hayes next week?

Kind regards,

Bob would be reporter. Oops! Editor.

The provisional result from the Holland Birkett 6 Hour relay Race are as follows.

Mary Lindsay 20
Andy Green 15
Andrew Potter 13
Ulrich Vierhaus 11
Andrew Thompson 10
Richard Thorne 10
Kelvin Laidlaw 9
Barry Sumner 9
Paul Burry (?) 8
Simon Orebi-Gann 5
Phillip Goddard 5
Roger Whiteside/John Emberson 28

Mary Lindsay is therefore declared the winner as it has not been possible to establish whether Roger or John registerd an individual score higher than 20.
Any amendments or protest to these figures should registered with the appropriate authorities before next year's race.

Congratulations to all who took part in the competition and well done to Mary for her magnificent result.

Any criticism of the grammar used in this post should be suppressed in the interests of the innocent, and to protect the ignorant.

Mary,
Maybe someone more perspicacious will work it out, so before I reveal all (so to speak) let us wait and see what other responses we may get.

Let me say, however, that you should not be displeased with the accolade.

Any suggestions? Anybody.
